The Best Feeling in the World

Elijah and I shared a "man" moment the other day that I have to share with you.

We went to Famous Dave's for dinner. As usual, right before the food came, Elijah said he had to go to the bathroom. I am not quite comfortable enough to let him go alone yet so I went in the bathroom with him.

Usually, when we go to restaurant bathrooms, they are empty. This time, it was packed. We waited in line and, finally, Elijah got to use the urinal. Both stalls next to him were occupied and there were two people at the sinks. I just stand there and wait for him to get finished. I usually like to talk to him the whole time so that people don't think I am some kind of Idaho Senator waiting for some fun.

Anyway, on this day Elijah was mid-stream at the urinal when he turns his head around to face me and, with the biggest smile on his face, says, "Ahhhhhhhh, Dad, isn't peeing the best feeling EVER?"

He didn't say it softly either. He announced it. People looked over and smiled. But he didn't stop there.

"However, pooping really isn't a very good feeling at all."

As the heads turned back to look at him as he was "shaking out", I had to jump in...

"Let's see if you still say that when you're forty years old, buddy."

My son and I are totally bonding!!
